When New Years resolutions are busted

Remember the excitement you felt and the resolve?

You were going to make 2010 the best year yet.

It was so important you made the resolution of resolutions. No way you were gonna fail! Do or be Busted!

Oh! Busted you say. No way! How? Why?

If you have a busted resolution, ask yourself these questions and rank your self 1, 2,3, 4 or 5 on your motivation:

1. How satisfied are you with this area of your life right now? 1=satisfied 5=dissatisfied

2. Do the Pros outweigh the Cons at this time? 1=cons out weigh, 5=Pros out weigh

3. How much are your dreams or desires motivating you to take action in the area of your life now? 1=none 5=high motivation

4. Rate your current (emotional or physical) pain or stress level with this area of your life right now. 1=no or low pain/stress, 5=high pain/stress

5. Rate your current (or foreseeable future) amount of crisis/loss (that may motivate you for immediate change) 1=little or none, 5=high loss/crisis

6. Is now a good time for focusing on this area of your life? 1=poor time, 5=very good time

7. How much of this change is being done for you (as opposed to doing it for someone else)? 1=for someone else, 5=Totally for me

8. Are you prepared to move forward with this change, regardless of the possible responses (disapproval, fear,control, insecurity, resistance, etc…) of significant people in your life?  1=Not Prepared, 5= Very prepared

9. How “in place” or ready are the resources and support systems needed to help you make and sustain this change? 1=not in place, 5= Very “in place”

Total your score

if total is:            1-15  Red light , Not Ready

“   “        “:              16-30 Yellow light – Maybe your are ready for change

if total is:             31-45  Green Light – You are Ready for change

There are many questions to ask yourself about resolutions an goals which are covered on the recordings.
